I was just reading an article on NYTimes.com about Lost (tonight is the season finale). Anyways, I get to this word, 'penultimate' and instead of skipping over it and pretending I know what it means, I highlight it and click on the question mark. Instantly it gives me the word's definition. How cool! Penulimate means next to last. It's those added features that makes the Times so worth reading.
