Catherine B's recent TTC altercation reminded me of how awesome the transit system was in Dubai. But a year old the Dubai Metro is speedy and sparkling clean (most people in Dubai drive). For me the 'aha' moment came when I saw how they designed the poles. As you can see in the photo, one pole has many arms, so you're not fighting for hand space. The pole doesn't take up any more room and it keeps all passengers happy. It's the least our TTC system could do.
